The first refresh of the RevoDrive SSD line since Toshiba brought OCZ sees the new RevoDrive 350 series achieving lightning fast speeds. The larger capacity SSD’s achieve 1800MB/s, making the 350 the fastest consumer SSD available.
OCZ has announced three models in the 350 series. The base 240GB model will retail for $539 USD and achieves 1000MB/s read and 950MB/x write speeds. The 480GB model will sell for $899 and the 960GB model will retail for the bank account busting figure of $1299 USD. Both offer incredible performance with 1800MB/s read and 1700MB/s write speeds.
To reach these blazingly fast speeds OCZ has built the 350 series on the PCIe 2.0 x8 interface, most consumer PCI SSD cards use the slower PCIe x4 interface. Up to four LSI SF-2282 controllers keep the data shuffling around Toshiba’s fastest flash ram.

The new era of high performance storage solutions is on the cards, PCI Express 2.0 cards.
Republic of Gamers, ASUS’s hard core gamer division has once again given the world a tantalizing glimpse of the RAIDR Express SSD. Blowing away the SATA bottleneck RADR Express will slot into your motherboard, like a video card.
First shown at this year CES the card has recently made another appearance on the Republic of Gamers website. A number of working models are now doing the rounds with the tech websites; the final product should be available in May.

At this years Computex conference this week OCZ has been showing off their latest storage technology for us to drawl over. With the RevoDrive 3 PCIe SSD card they have set the benchmark for consumer oriented Uber storage solutions. Like greased lightning for your computers insides, this is the newest gadget that every noid computer builder wants. It’s not as glamorous as and new 3D transistor CPU from Intel or the latest Über video card but PCIe storage makes up for it with exclusivity. This is leading edge technology that few people have.
Just like a standard SSD – Solid State Drive – the RevoDrive 3 replaces the hard drive in your system instantly converting your old beige box into a sleek performance machine. This card is fully bootable allowing it to be plugged into any motherboard and used as your systems boot drive, not all PCIe SSD’s are capable of this. What makes the RevoDrive different from hard drives and typical SSD’s is the way it connects to your computer. In the Revo’s case it uses a PCIe slot – Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, motherboard slots -, instead of the slower SATA interface . By connecting directly to your computers motherboard the RevoDrive is able to achieve speeds much higher than the old SATA hard drive interface.
