Dancing zombies are an underappreciated sub culture of the zombie genre. They obviously still have the ability to react to noise so why wouldn’t they be able to dance? Michael Jackson thought the idea made enough sense that he made it the defining characteristic of his Thriller music video, a music video that was the first to popularize idea, making it one of the most memorable music videos of all times. In the modern era one small independent video produce, Danial Cloud Compos, thought the idea deserved revisiting and proved that it still works, even with today’s electronica music as the back-beat.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is ‘The Dancing Dead’, a funny music video that demonstrates that a zombie with a sense of rhythm is not only funny but it makes for a damn fine music video. Now if only the Walking Dead TV series could take a leaf out of this book they could re-invigorate the show. Sit back relax and prepare to shake that recently deceased money maker.

When Will They Learn? Connecting an AI to the internet will result in only one outcome, JAFA (Just Another F…… Ass….) with an internet connection. And this week the internet claimed another artificial life. After being connected to twitter for just one day Microsoft’s AI chatbot Tay had to be unplugged, formatted and sent back to the lab for a software upgrade.
Tay was developed by Microsoft as an experiment in conversational understanding, a chatbot for the street generation (18 to 35 they say). MS made only one mistake though, a mistake that many other tech companies have made, connecting to the internet. If only Microsoft had watched 27 this may have never happened.

Here at Highpants we like to think reaction videos still rule the roost when it comes to pure belly laughs per minute, well that and cat videos obviously. Take for example the video ‘Landlord Tries Drone Headset’, a video that demonstrates the more unlikely the combination of test subject and experiment the greater the reaction, and the funnier the video. The quality of the test subject aka the fall guy can also greatly effect the outcome. All of this mind you adds up to one funny reaction video, funnier than cats? You decide.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is a landlord who tries out a drone headset for the first time. A mind given flight and a body that tells him otherwise. Sit back relax and prepare to become one with the drone, or not.

Everyone in the world knows the sound of a train rushing by, with or without the train horn sounding. Some enthusiasts can even tell the model of train passing by just from its audio signature alone. Many animal noises also fall into this category, oddly goats that sound wrong are most often goats themselves making wrong noises, the funniest of all of the animals sounding wrong. The Simpsons once joked that it would be very hard to record animated shows live, the Poochy episode, Aug(de)mented Reality may challenge that theory. With nothing more than an iPhone, clear animation transparency cells and a handful of Sharpies Marty Cooper aka Hombre McSteezcan can produce his unique animations in no time at all. Often described as analogue augmented reality McSteez’s quick cartoons are sort of time-lapse, sort of stop-frame but they use no CGI.
Once McSteez has decided on a location he sets to work sketching out his character’s animation on clear transparency film. When ready he rips out his iPhone and stop motion app to capture each cell held up against the background, giving a time-lapse feel to the completed videos. After each frame is captured McSteez stitches it all together at home producing the quirky animations.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is the Aud(de)mented Reality series thus far. Four short amusements that will get your Saturday of too a smiling start. Sit back relax and prepare to be amused by one man’s imaginary friends.
