Epic Roof Jump, GoPro Insanity…

Treating the entire world as an urban gymnasium professional stunt man Ethan Swanson has ventured out for another workout. After attaching a GoPro to himself Ethan takes us through his new favourite workout routine that combines a four story high building, an angled house rooftop and a spiral staircase. To see how all of this turns into a workout you’ll have to watch the video.

The Citadel Demo has been released! HTML 5 and the future of Gaming as demonstrated by Mozilla and Epic…

The future of game and application development is being previewed by Mozilla and Epic. Released to the public this week the Citadel demo encapsulates all of the latest technologies that are making high speed web games and apps possible. While web gaming and apps have achieved a moderate level of notoriety they remain only a curiosity to many.

Making use of HTML5, JavaScript and WebGL the team from Epic and Mozilla used Emscripten to compile the C++ source code into 52 megabytes of JavaScript. The code itself is based on the always impressive Epic Unreal Engine 3 that makes use of WebGL to draw the HTML 5 canvas, producing the impressive visuals.

Firefox gets Unreal, Epic Port Unreal Engine 3 to asm.js JavaScript…

Mozilla and Epic have teamed up to push browser technology to new levels. Putting Mozilla’s brand new asm.js JavaScript technology to good use by converting Unreal Engine 3 to the new flavour of JavaScript. Free of plug-ins or installation this latest version of Unreal Engine 3 runs natively in Firefox browsers, and it’s fast.

This new version of UE3 came to life during the Game Developers Conference, part proof of concept part technology demonstration this is a major milestone for browser technology, while also being an interesting journey.
