Using two tiny high output electric motors this is the lightest and toughest RC plane that also happens to be by far the coolest flying gadget released this year.
More than an RC plane the Carbon Flyer is also a camera carrying drone able to stay aloft for three minutes at a time. Controlled via a smartphone app at a range of up to 240 feet, which it will cover quickly with a top speed of 40mph, this is simplicity and fun wrapped in carbon black.

Since the inception of the mobile phone new features and technology has been rolled into these handheld wonders. Unfortunately with each new technology a new generation of phone has been required to integrate the technology, also requiring the wholesale disposal of the previous generation. Think of this development process as hard wiring of functionality, a process that requires phone manufacturers to maintain their own system architecture and continually modify the hardware and software to add new functionality.
The current smartphone architectures also limit the choice for consumers, limiting it to the hardware manufacturers want to include, a decision generally based on gaining the most market share. If you want a phone with functions that aren’t in the mainstream vocabulary you are out of luck. This is just the nature of trying to cater for a generalised user base and has led to phone manufacturers battling over screen resolution or phone thickness. Never willing to take a chance with a feature only few would ever require.

Unmanned drones are all the rage at the moment but drones are not limited to the skies, take for example the US Navy’s latest technological breakthrough Silent Nemo the robotic spy fish, also known as the Ghost Swimmer.
Modeled after a blue fin tuna Silent Nemo the Ghost Swimmer looks like a normal fish, swims like a normal fish but he is in fact a semi autonomous water bound drone, but he’s not destined to become sushi as his living siblings are. Like a living tuna Silent Nemo is able to make tight turns and move through the water silently even though he is over 5 feet long and weighs a tad less than 50 kilograms. It turns out that a flapping tale is ten times quieter than a propeller, perfect for sneaking up on your water borne enemy.

Having donned the famous floppy hat and with long white beard combed straight EA seems to have caught a serious dose of the Christmas spirit.
It wasn’t such a great year for many game developers; the naughty list seriously outweighing the nice but EA has at least thought twice and decided to give away SimCity 2000 Special Edition for free, no catches but you will need to be quick. With the jolly red and white suite on EA dug deep into their sack of games from days of yore. Possibly to remind developers how to do it right or maybe trying to help everyone forget the Maxis SimCity 2014 debacle, no matter their reason it must be the Christmas season, the season of giving.
EA being EA you can also spend 50 bucks on the complete SimCity pack but for our money the city building of 2000 will do just fine. Maybe it’s the eggnog talking but you would be well advised to not get between those EA executives and the mistletoe, you never know what will happen.
