The X Games, having reduced the word extreme to a single letter ,X. The X team is now working with everyone’s childhood favorite, Hot Wheels. Together they are performing amazing stunts on four full sized wheels.
In their latest exploit, the X Games and Hot Wheels are claiming the world record for driving the first simultaneous double loop, the Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare is taking childhood imagination and making the insanity real.
The 66 foot high loops were modeled on Mattel’s Hot Wheels Double Dare Snare toy racetrack set. Re-engineered and scaled up to deal with the forces of a full sized rally cars hitting the loop at 52 mph. Hitting with 7 g’s of force during the loop the drivers have trained to deal with the black out inducing g forces. Something is missing from Jaguar. As a company whose name has been built on sports car performance and luxury interiors it may seem unusual that they haven’t had a true 2 seater sports car in it’s line-up since the X-Type and E-Types, some 50 years ago. Jaguar is about to change this sad fact in the most astounding way, let me introduce you to the Jaguar F-Type, two seater super sports car.
Recently at the Beijing Motor Show (2012) Jaguar released more tasty morsels of information in the build up to the 2013 launch of the new F-Type. Jaguar is drip feeding the rumour mill with morsels of information, pictures and video of their new curvaceous dream machine.
Early photo’s of the prototypes were released by Jaguar in 2011, shortly after confirmed the project would go into production. While the photo’s did wet the publics appetite, generating a substantial buzz, the cars were only partially naked, with the curves of the front and rear covered in pattered paint jobs to mask their true lines.

Small streets, tight corners, squeezing through unforgiving gaps, inner city living has necessitated a class of car that matches the hustle and bustle of life in the city. The city cars are this class of car. Compact, cheap and reliable, these are the words that quickly became the catch cry of the city car owners.
The Abarth treatment of the FIAT 500 creates one insane city car, a pocket rocket. FIAT still wanted more though it seems. They needed something special to celebrate the release of the new FIAT 500 Abarth, so they created the Venom. This is what happens when you put a car through Abarth’s tuning factory line twice, no longer is turning the dial to 11 enough, somehow FIAT have found the 12 on a dial that only goes to 10.
FIAT has this week garnered much attention for the release of the 2013 FIAT 500 and its bad boy half brother, the Abarth. Catrrinel Menghia had cameras a flashing and reporters dashing, for interviews. Turning seemingly profession journalists into fumbling adolescents once again.

Instantly creating a stir when it was initially released in 1991 the Dodge Viper took the muscle car concept to the limit, along the way becoming one of those cars people either loved or hated, the Viper was a very polarising model.
As Mark Twain once said ‘the rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated”, the same could be said for the Viper. After a temporary halt to production, since 2010, to allow for a fully redesigned 2013 model the Viper is back, ready to make it’s international debut at the New York Motor Show this week.
The new models have been re-designed from the ground up. First discussed in 2010 the 2013 Viper will be designed to make it accessible to as many people as possible. All Vipers produced to date have been described as drivers cars, with no driver aids and aggressive handling that required razor sharp reactions previous Vipers required taming. At the Chrysler 2010 dealer conference Chrysler Group and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne described the 2013 Viper design aiming to make the car more accessible to the average driver. To this end the new Viper will now include all of the modern driver aids and more forgiving steering and suspension settings. Electronically taming the beast.

Mercedes-Benz is once again promoting the next generation power source, the Fuel Cell or as Mercedes has branded it, F-Cell. In the process they have created the coolest B-Class Mercedes-Benz ever, a car traditionally known as a family wagon is now the centre of a video that has captured everyone’s attention. The Invisible Mercedes-Benz.
Utilising thousands of LED’s the camouflaged B-Class was driven around the streets turning heads as it went. While the technique of invisibility is straightforward implementing it was no easy feat. Requiring thousands of LED’s and a Canon EOS 5D Mark II D/SLR on the far side of the car to generate the illusion. The image from the camera being portrayed by the LED’s on the car, giving the appearance of invisibility. Like a modern form of magic using a slight of hand and mirrors, in a digital sense, Mercedes has created a visually stunning promotional tool for their F-Cell.
The publicity machine at Mercedes-Benz is certainly churning away. The end of 2011 saw a team drive a fleet of B-Class F Cell Merc’s around the world. Many journalists were given a hands on preview, most having only good things to say about the handling and power. Mercedes-Benz is especially keen to emphasise the zero impact nature of hydrogen and fuel cells, along with the perky performance and range.

Nissan has always produced highly modifiable cars, intentional or not their cars have been hugely popular with drifters and street races, once duly modified. Now Nissan has beaten everyone to the punch and produced what they describe as the world’s fastest cross-over, the Juke-R is actually the world’s most extreme hot hatch.
The Juke was released in 2010, with its unusual looks and very useable interior it won a lot of friends. Being a cross-over it combines the qualities of an sports off-roader with the size and shape of a hatchback. While the plain vanilla Juke may be an interesting curio Nissan has constructed something very special with its Juke-R. Wanting to prove the point Nissan has even released a video of the Juke-R racing three other super-cars. – see below -.
Dressed in black carbon fibre the Juke-R is the standard Jukes evil twin. A smoking hot hatch in the greatest tradition of mental cars. This is no ordinary hot hatchback mind you, with a Nissan GT-R’s engine, transmission and four wheel drive somehow shoe horned into the Jukes body. Part Juke part Godzilla, this is the Jukezilla.
