Since the birth of the automobile in the late 1800’s cars quickly developed to become far more than a form of transport. Imbued with our sense of style and personality they also came to represent a snapshot of the time in which they were created.
Nissan Motors and their luxury car brand Infinity have recently embarked on a journey to rediscover a sense of style that existed in the distant past. A journey that celebrates style, ingenuity, craftsmanship and a demonstration of design passion. This journey ended in a destination that is the Prototype 9, a car inspired by the sleek 1940’s racers of yesteryear, a hand-crafted stream-liner with the latest technology under its steel skin.

Some say necessity is the father of all invention, others say nagging is the mother of all necessity. The Mill Blackbird on the other hand is the answer to a number of video production questions. How to shoot video of a car that doesn’t exist (yet or anymore)? How to render a car so realistically no-one can tell? How to make a Kia look like a Ferrari? The answer is send in the Mill Blackbird. Built in the same hanger as the legendary SR-71 Blackbird the Mill has some big shoes to fill and big questions to answer.
The Mill Blackbird is the world’s first fully adjustable car rig designed for use by cinematographers, an incredibly advanced photography platform as well as a fully marked up reference machine for rending a car onto, a blank.

The Siberian wilderness is one of the harshest environments on the planet, that’s why they built a Gulag there. In this environment everything has to be built tough to stand up to natures fury and the Sherp certainly is built tough, simple but tough. Whether its swimming across icy rivers or climbing rock piles the Sherp is the kind of tough that just keeps on going. Above all though the Sherp just looks like a lot of fun to drive. Testing an ATV’s limits is far more fun if you can transverse these challenges successfully.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is the latest piece of Russian ingenuity, the love child of a quad bike and T82 tank that looks like more fun than is allowed in Siberia. Sit back relax and prepare to develop a serious case of big toy envy.

With the battle to be king of the mountain taking place in Bathurst this weekend Car Advice have tested the best of Aussie V8 muscle against the electric wonder car, the Tesla Model S. This IS the fastest four door sedan available bar none.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is the Holden V8 Supercar and Walkinshaw HSV V8 lined up against the silent but deadly Tesla S. Buckle up in the back this is going to be one wild ride down the quarter mile.

F1 drivers spend their days behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest four wheeled speed machines which has the unfortunate side effect of making other cars simply a form of transport. These not so easily impressed professional drivers are rarely thrilled by thrashing even the sportiest of sport cars. Ferrari however may have created an exception to this rule as Sebastian Vettel can attest. One spin around the track in the FXX K was enough to cause Vettel to utter the helmet muffled words ‘Mamma mia! It goes like a rocket.’

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the 2015 Nismo Nissan GT-R both represent the solution to the problem of speed taken from completely different angles, both are completely different and both spectacular. They could also both be considered bargain supercars, performance without such a steep price tag, still out of the reach of most but just slightly out of reach.
Motor Trends have taken both supercars out for a test drive and the results are surprising on both parts. Presented for your viewing pleasure is the test drive video that just happens to include two of our favourite everyday supercars. Sit back, relax and remember to buckle up in the back, these are g machines.

AutoCar have recently had the privilege of taking out some of today’s most advanced automotive technology and they decided to have a drag race, tarmac melting fun. Lining up the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Ducati 1199 Superleggera in an attempt to answer the question on everyone’s mind ‘Which of the new hypercars is the fastest?’, along with the eternal question ‘2 wheels or 4?’
One interesting point to take out of the hyper drag race is the fact that some of the current superbikes are very close to making the hyper category. With better than one to one power to weight ration they have many of the required numbers to make it, although most lack the top speed. Here at Highpants we go by the following hypercar formula; one to one power to weight ration, top speed over 400kph/250mph and sub 3 second 0-100kph times.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is the video evidence demonstrating just how quick hyper is. Far more than a fun way to spend a day the hyper drag race is the beginning of battle, a battle that requires hard numbers to decide the winner. Sit back, relax and remember to buckle up in the back.

While many of us judge a good day based on the simple things in life, good food, good company or even getting everything you wanted for Christmas the lucky journalists at CAR Magazine TV have much higher standards. In their world a good day involves such things as spending the day testing the world’s most advanced Hypercars.
You really do know you’re having a good day when the toughest decision is ‘do I drive the LaFerrari or the McLaren P1?’ Both cars feature hybrid power trains that use electric motors to make them quicker, both have close to a 1 bhp per kilo power to weight ratio and both produce a grin inducing sound that will send shivers down your spine. Looks like its flip a coin time.
