Celebrating 40 Years of the M brand BMW Canada have this week released a most stunning video. Bringing the Art back to promotion with the video titled ‘M5 Bullet – High Performance Art’. With super smooth slow motion action on display the video has been a smash hit, passing a million views on YouTube in its first two days. It will eventually make it onto TV as the new BMW M5 commercial.

Filming took place in the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Accelerating hard the M5 shoots out of the barrel of a very large gun, the desert backdrop hides the scale of the exercise. The BMW F10M M5 continues on its trajectory, racing across the desert, destroying everything in its path. With all of the destruction captured in spectacular slow motion the video makes for captivating viewing.

Included for your viewing pleasure is one of the most creative car commercials in years, sit back, relax and let the high speed destruction begin.

M5 F10M

The manual gearbox F10M M5 featured in the video is the last generation available with the manual, all M5’s of the future will include BMW’s latest electronic automatic gearbox.

Under the bonnet the F10M M5 features BMW’s outstanding twin turbo 4.4 liter V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo package. Continuing their push to more efficient smaller turbo engines. Power is rated at 560 hp at 6000 to 7000 rpm and 502 lb/ft torque at 1500 rpm. BMW is calling this the fastest sedan in the world and they numbers seem to back that point, with acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 kph) in 4.4 seconds while on its way to a top speed of 190 mph (305 kph).

With the roar of a turbo V8 still ringing in our ears we have to salute BMW’s ‘M5 Bullet – High Performance Art’, it is poetry in motion.
