The PiXXL Monster LED Gaming Cube…

When it comes to spectacular forms of illumination LED Cubes lead the way, but they are dime a dozen in today’s high tech world. Hungarian tech start-up PirateGames have recently been show-casing their take on the LED cube, the PiXXL, and it has a twist that may just re-invigorate the way we look at these brightly lit six sided cubes, its interactive.

As its name might suggest each of the giant cubes six sides are covered in a 32×32 grid of RGB LED pixels but buried underneath its skin is a Raspberry Pi with a full array of motion sensors that gives the PiXXL the ability to sense movement aloowing it to interact with its owner.

The Mesmerising Dichroic Infinity Cube Illusion…

Optical illusions are candy for curious minds and artist Sean Augustine March has crafted a full candy store of illusions. His latest piece of brain candy is the mind-bending lamp Fresnel Major. One of the slickest examples of Infinity Cube available it seems to bend the very properties of physics to create an infinity of space within a handy little glass box.

At their very core every infinity mirror is based on the power of pointing a mirror at another mirror, bouncing light between the two. Adding Dichroic glass to the equation adds an interesting twist that changes the colour of the light as it bounces between the reflective surfaces.

Diesel On Full Guard 2.5 Smart Watch, Balanced Design and Smarts…

Here at Highpants we have been contemplating the purchase of a smart watch for a while now. However, until now we haven’t been able to find the right combination of looks and features that satisfied our desires and convinces us to pony up the dosh. That is until we stumbled upon the Diesel On Full Guard 2.5, a watch that had us slamming down our cold hard cash faster than gambler on a hot streak.

The Diesel design finally achieves a smart watch that looks just like an attractive watch. In a brutally rugged way it achieves what is arguably the best balance of design and smarts of any smart watch on the market. Even if smart watches are of no interest this watch gets the attention of watch fans with its chunky Industrial design and use of machined steel.

This especially applies to fans of Diesels traditional watches (non-smart), they will love what Fossil have achieved in gun metal grey steel. This is after-all a Fossil watch under the hood with Android Wear OS properly implemented. Fossil has gotten so good at this type of design that Google recently purchased the Fossil division responsible for producing the Diesel, Michael Corrs and Mont Blanc Wear OS watches.

Due for release in 2020 Elon Musk’s second-generation Roadster is still a couple of years away from hitting the road but it already has chins wagging.
