Sebastian Vettel takes the Ferrari FXX K for a Spin…

F1 drivers spend their days behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest four wheeled speed machines which has the unfortunate side effect of making other cars simply a form of transport. These not so easily impressed professional drivers are rarely thrilled by thrashing even the sportiest of sport cars. Ferrari however may have created an exception to this rule as Sebastian Vettel can attest. One spin around the track in the FXX K was enough to cause Vettel to utter the helmet muffled words ‘Mamma mia! It goes like a rocket.’

Rumours have been swirling around the wobbly web that suggest NVIDIA will soon be releasing the next generation Shield tablet, a tablet based on the brand new Tegra X1 chip that’s capable of delivering a Teraflop of processing power.

Helping to further whip the net into a frenzy NVIDIA this week sent out invites for a mysterious media event on the 3rd of March in San Francisco. It is expected that NVIDIA will announce the release date of the new Shield, some rumours suggest the release date will be as early as the 17th of March while other whispers are suggesting the new X1 Shield may appear as late as June 2015.

Will the Shield be the first product to use the X1 chipset and become the first Teraflop tablet? Will the world’s first Teraflop tablet be a Q1 or Q2 product? Hopefully NVIDIA will answer these questions and more on March 3rd.

Raylight 4D Water Projection System at the Sheraton…

Projecting images on a grand scale is becoming a standard practice, with every conceivable indoor and outdoor structure tested as a target for high powered projectors PointCloud Media dared to ask ‘What about Water?’ The question was answered in stunning style at the Sheraton Hotel Waikiki when a Raylight 4D system illuminated the hotels pools.

PointCloud Media installed 5 x 40K and 2 x 20k projectors to generate a nearly 20 megapixel image that uses the characteristics of water to great effect. It just seems so logical, an empty swimming pool at night, a projector, just add fish animations and its job done.

Thank You YouTube, Now I Know That Professional Slap Fighting is a Thing and its Epic…

YouTube is fast approaching its 10th birthday, 14th of February 2015, and in 10 short years it has revolutionized entertainment, putting the power to be a star in everyone’s hands. In 10 short years the new Tube has managed to capture a short film version of every aspect of our lives, from the everyday to the extraordinary. Things you wouldn’t believe were real unless you saw it for yourself on the Tube.

Slap fighting is one of those things that you may not believe is real, but real it is, and there is even a history going back many thousands of years. The original slap fighting occurs as part of a sport known as Kabbadi, the national sport of Bangladesh and also played in India’s south, on the beaches especially. Basically like a team version of tag you start with players split into two teams who take turns to tag out players on the other side. When only two players are left in the circle a slap fight can quickly erupt. It’s actually far funnier than it sounds.

Then there is the American version of slap fighting and as always it’s a sport that sprang from a drinking game. Organised groups of slap combatants line up to slap and be slapped. Recently one competition experienced the ultimate win / fail slap match, just depends which end of the slap you’re on.

Presented for your viewing pleasure are two versions of slap fighting from around world, brought to you by the modern marvel that is YouTube. Sit back, relax and please don’t try this at home, these are trained professional athletes.
