The Game Developers Conference 2013 was the scene, a tech savvy backdrop for AMD to reveal their latest pixel pushing technology. While AMD had a large presence behind the scenes they somehow managed to avoid the spotlight.
Only willing to give the tech hungry audience a sneak peak at upcoming technology AMD kept the audience hanging in suspense. As a part of their tech sneak peek AMD previewed two up and coming technologies,; the long awaited HD 7990 dual GPU uber video card and the brand new Radeon Sky family of video cards for the clouds.

The SmartWatch a gadget dream that has been waiting for technology to catch up with our imaginations. Wanting to extend the Galaxy brand to wrists all over the world Samsung is putting its hand up and joining the SmartWatch revolution.
Samsung’s mobile vice president Lee Young spilt the beans to Bloomberg during an interview recently. While Young was light on details he was serious in intent. “We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long,” said Lee Young Hee, “We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”

Like a classic Hollywood blockbuster following on from a legend can sometimes be difficult. Many have said that the Nexus brand peaked with the third generation, the Samsung Nexus. While the LG Nexus 4 was technically a great phone many supply issues hampered sales. Now Google is back, keen to bring the Nexus name back into the limelight, for all of the right reasons.
Google is rumoured to be working with a number of manufacturers at the moment in order to bring the Nexus 5 to life, and yes LG is once again amongst the manufacturers being consulted. Providing content to the next generation 4K ultra high resolution TV’s is shaping up to be the next theater of war in the battle for our living rooms. While the 4K Televisions themselves are still not common clever internet based video streaming services have already seen the potential.
During an interview with The Verge Neil Hunt Netflix Chief Product Officer discussed his company’s interest in providing 4K content to these high tech wonders. His optimism was tempered with reality when the discussion turned to bandwidth requirements. Bandwidth is the limiting factor at the moment with 4K streams requiring 35Mb of bandwidth to keep playback smooth.
