The Google Nexus 10 preview, a windy introduction…

Samsung and Google’s latest lovechild, the Nexus 10 is a tablet so sleek the iPad is said to have a crush on it. Pictures and a video of the latest Nexus tablet have appeared via website BriefMobile, setting the tech world abuzz.

This may also be partially due to Google postponing the October 29 launch event thanks in no small part to hurricane Sandy. With no new date yet announced for the official event we will have to make do with these little morsels of news till the official event.

The Nexus 10 is set to become the new benchmark for 10 inch tablets, a sock lifter. The sort of tablet that makes everyone else try harder, lift up their socks.

HAARP: Earthquakes and other signs of activity…

HAARP’s reputation precedes him, with powers that dwarf even a Bond villain. Could HAARP possibly be as powerful as rumours suggest and can it produce all of the phenomenon attributed to it. Are lights in the sky, unusual electrical sounds and unexplained radar signatures all signs of HAARP in action?

The new Boxee is a slimline compact box that will blend in with other components in the living room. Unlike the radical rubix cube design of its older brother the Boxee TV is a simpler black rectangular design.

LG Elevator of Scare…

LG, life is good until you climb aboard LG’s special elevator. Upon entering the lift all looks normal, nothing to see here, until you press the button. In that moment the riders mind expects the lift to start its journey, instead the floor of the elevator appears to fall away, leaving them at gravities mercy.

The floor was in fact still in place as it should be, the effect being generated by a series of IPS LCD panels embedded into the floor. An impressive prank that has all of the polish of a Hollywood blockbuster crammed into the confines of your average office elevator.

The Rise of 4K TV, Introducing Ultra High Definition…

Television, our window into a world of entertainment is evolving before our eyes. The next advancement in TV technology is taking shape; the rise of 4K television is nearly upon us.

This week the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) have formally established the 4k standard and given it a catchy new name in the process, UHD or Ultra High Definition. UHD is based around the new mega pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160, four times the number of pixels than 1080p.

As part of the standard all UHD display devices must have at least one digital input capable of receiving native 4k UHD images, no up-scaling.
