Insider rumours are suggesting the new iPhone, number 5, will include a larger 16:9 wide-screen profile display. At four inches diagonal the new retina display will keep pace with the ever increasing size of smartphone displays. Said to be Steve Jobs’ last project expect something special.
Also said to be in production, alongside the new iPhone literally, is the mini iPad. A tablet so cute that the Kindle Fire was overheard muttering while walking off “mirror mirror on the wall…”

With possibly the funniest promo video of any game this year Far Cry 3 The Insane Edition is making crazy waves on the game scene. Ubisoft is hoping we will all invest in their new outlandish characters, they may be onto something.
Far Cry 3 itself is due for release September 4, the Insane Edition announced this week is the first expansion pack to be announced for the yet to be released game. For the uninitiated Far Cry is a an open world first person shooter with a twist. Combining exceptional action sequences with light comic relief Far Cry has become an all time classic action game.
Far Cry 3 has seen Ubisoft emphasis the storyline and characters of the new game, spawning one of the funniest promo videos in the process, The Insane Edition promo video. The pack itself will contain extra gameplay, new weapons and the greatest special addition accessory in history, the bobble head guy from the video.
As part of the build up to the September release a new video is attempting to keep the buzz going. The original press conference video has been seen 3.5 million times since it’s release, mid-2011, now it’s time for the pre-release trailer. Yahoo the one-time Internet behemoth is trying something different, attempting to drag the world of search into the future. Axis is Yahoo’s new face of search, a graphic interface for your search results, and bookmarks. Available via plug-ins for all browsers or as a free application for mobile devices Yahoo hopes for a visual future, shared across all devices.
Axis raises interesting arguments for a new interface for the web. Arguments shared by such competitors as StumpleUpon and DiggIt. With Axis the visual search results are combined with visual bookmarks to produce a very Windows 8 like experience, live tiles instead of hyperlink text.
Getting started is simple, sign in, which can be done via your Yahoo, Facebook or Google accounts, and start bookmarking. Currently bookmarks can be emailed to friends but no links to social media sites have been established, yet.

The build-up to the first ever Solar Maximum recorded in digital, and 3D, is well underway. The latest solar storm to capture the worlds attention is AR1476. At 60,000 miles or 100,000 kilometres across AR1476 is a sunspot of immense proportions. So large that it is visible in photo’s using a decent digital camera and the proper filters (welding glasses), it is never a good idea to stare directly at or point your camera towards the sun.
AR 1476 first appeared last week, spotted by NASA’s SDO team, who proceeded to tweet the observation. The news spread rapidly, with space weather warnings being announced. generating a massive buzz on the way.
SDO is keeping a close eye on AR1476, the sunspot is still active, with a 10% chance of an X-Class solar flare and 4 massive active dark cores within, AR 1476 is both fascinating and dangerous. An X-Class flare is the highest rated class and potentially dangerous, at the very least it could most annoying. With the ability to destroy communications satellites and interfere with radio signals an uncomfortable silence may ensue.
