Flex-2 Micro-Gravity Fire, NASA Experiments with Combustion in Space…

NASA continues to play with fire in space as a part of their Flex (Flame Extinguishment) experiments. The latest Flex-2 combustion experiment has produced some incredible findings, and amazing videos.

Installed on the International Space Station (ISS) in 2009 the experiments hope to improve our knowledge of how different liquids burn in zero gravity environments. Eventually leading to more efficient and cleaner burning rocket engines.

Presented for your viewing pleasure is the video evidence that NASA loves to play with fire, a video capturing the amazing effects of setting things alight in space. Sit back, relax and please don’t try this at home where gravity is plentiful.
